Movement is part of the human evolution story — it is crucial for our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Mood, mind and matter are refined & enhanced through efficient and joyful movement practices.

Julian is the founder of the S.L.O. Motion — a Human Movement Method. Culled from over twenty years of personal practices in a broad range of disciplines and a decade of teaching,

Julian offers S.L.O. Motion to access total body cognition. Its intention is to awaken & connect with the innate wisdom of the body by moving S.L.O. — Somatic, Locomotive and Organic.

FOR: MOBILITY, LONGEVITY, TOTAL BODY COHERENCE, GRACE, AGILITY, COORDINATION, SOMATIC INTELLIGENCE, ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE, STRENGTH, FLEXIBILITY, INJURY PREVENTION, PAIN RELIEF, GREATER PHYSICAL POTENTIAL, DAY-TO-DAY MOVEMENTS

  • Soma is derived from the Greek word meaning, “body.” We explore the body’s intelligence through movements focusing on the nervous system, evolutionary pathways, and total body coherence. We seek greater balance in the autonomic nervous system to help the body differentiate between active engagement & passive relaxation.

  • Our bodies are meant to move from one place to another — or locomote, under their own strength and power. These movements will inspire natural efficiency with grace & deep competence. Practical movements for everyday humans.

  • Organic encompasses a wide range of movements, postures, and shapes (both dynamic and static) that are an extension of our primal nature. We’ll find the flow through movement inquiries that are spontaneous, expressive, and playful.

Longevity Movements

These movements are meant to improve mobility, coordination, and physical resilience. There are four sections. Enjoy.

S.L.O. Motion

Natural | Evolutionary | Regenerative | Joyful | Curative

S.L.O. Motion is a synthesis of primordial movements that activate the body’s ability to perform real life movements for longevity and regeneration. Our goal is to access & illuminate the core competencies of human motion. These techniques are designed to liven the body’s natural intelligence, optimize movement efficiency, increase mobility, improve coordination and unlock healing potential.

Julian has taught movement & wellness at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY, Kripalu in Lenox, MA, Nosara Yoga Institute in Nosara Costa Rica, Sivananda Ashram in Paradise Island, Bahamas, and Blue Spirit in Costa Rica. He currently teaches internationally specializing in S.L.O. Motion courses and workshops.

My personal journey of transformation has been greatly enhanced by the assistance of Julian through yoga and bodywork. I highly recommend Julian as a resource for anyone’s personal growth and development of mind, body and spirit.

KIDS Bursts

These bursts are fun, effective and great for kids of all ages.  During school, at home or taking a break from the screen, do a burst to help improve coordination, concentration and overall wellbeing.  Some educators call these movements “brain breaks,” which are essential to the learning and development process.

Calisthenics

Calisthenics are exercises consisting of a variety of movements performed rhythmically and with minimal equipment. They are intended to increase body strength, body fitness, and flexibility. When performed vigorously and with variety, calisthenics can provide the benefits of muscular and aerobic conditioning, balance, agility and coordination.
